FAQs
Why did I receive an ambulance bill?
Brookfield Volunteer Fire Company participates in revenue recapture (billing for service) in order to invest in equipment and personnel. We are currently licensed by the State of Connecticut Department of Public Health (DPH) to provide ambulance transport services.
Who do I contact with billing questions or records requests?
Brookfield Volunteer Fire Company uses Shared Response Health Systems for billing services:

What are the different types of membership?
Currently we have 2 main types of members: Full, Associate and Auxiliary.
Full members can vote, hold office and have certain obligations annually in house. Full members also must live in the town limits or just outside in a predetermined distance.
Auxiliary members are support staff who help out the department in a non fire or ems aspect by helping with various fund drives and other Firehouse events. Even more important is the special care they give our Firefighters when “on-the-scene” at a fire call or community emergency–serving them food, beverage and other provisions.
